Pick-Up Truck Eating Pothole Eats... Pick-Up Truck

The whole world knows by now that the UK road network is no longer made of asphalt, but of a series of very large potholes linked together to form one massive nerve wrecking, car-breaking mess. From time to time, this horizontal monster on which millions of cars travel gets such an appetite that a wheel joint is no longer enough. So it tries to swallow a whole car. Or, in this case, a pick-up truck.

Somewhere on a road in rural Britain, pompously called A464 two guys with rapper attitude (watch video below for details on that) were traveling on board a Nissan Navara. That it until, all of a sudden, the road disappeared and the mother of all potholes appeared.

Behind the wheel of the truck was Chris Nedic, while on the passenger seat sat his brother Carl. Unknown to the two, a set of water pipes became leaky somewhere along the A464, causing the road to get eaten away from underneath.

According to the emergency service people who arrived at the scene, the pothole was so large that, had the two been driving a sedan or something, it could have swallowed the entire car. Luckily, the Navara proved to be a much bigger pill to swallow for the hungry road. The two men onboard the pick-up escaped with minor injuries.

"The 4x4 pick-up truck had been driving along the road when it came across the water filled hole and had no warning before driving straight into it,” Murray MacGregor, spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service was quoted as saying by The Telegraph.

"It was left at such an angle that the rear wheels were off the ground. Amazingly, the electrics continued to work leaving the lights on underwater leaving an odd glow. Thankfully, the men in the vehicle were able to get out of it without assistance."
