They say art is something you’re not supposed to question, but this guy just blew up a classic Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow. We are questioning his sanity. It might be the largest production volume of any Rolls-Royce model, but this luxury classic definitely deserves more than that.
First of all. Who is this fellow? In case you’re not into photography, we’ll remind you he’s known as a celebrities photographer, a rather eccentric one, that is.

His work often involves images of violence and splattered blood. Once, he collected blood from 20 celebrities to make a piece of art for his Life Is Not a Fairytale exhibit in Los Angeles and also photographed Lindsay Lohan as a vampire for that exhibit.

As to the particular stunt he pulled off this time, it seems it was planned for some time now. According to the video below, Shields bought the Rolls-Royce nine months ago and even though everyone told him to keep the car, he went on with the plan and decided to blow it off. He had all the footage and all the film developed the next day. The scene was specially made for a gallery show in London.

A failed Bonnie and Clyde scene

As far as we can tell, the theme shows a blond model all dressed-up sitting next to the luxury classic limousine. Then, a man in a suit is carrying a gas can and approaches her. The next scene shows the model sitting on the hood of the car while pouring gasoline on the car. The two end up running away from the car, as it burst in flames and eventually blows off. It kind of sounds like a typical “Bonnie and Clyde” scene.

Point is, he blows up a beautiful vintage car and we just can’t relate to that, call it art or madness, whatever it is. What is even worse, it’s not even the first time the so-called artist ruins an expensive item. In 2012, Shields released a photograph of his then-girlfriend Francesca Eastwood burning, sawing and biting an alleged $100,000 Hermes Birkin Bag for a photoshoot.
