We've only been looking at the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer in its official form for about a day, but we bet its designers have, much like we have, been placing their work up against the B-Class.
Mercedes' compact MPV is, like we've been saying all day, the best selling car in its segment back in Germany. So making a rival that's not comparable in looks would have been equivalent to industrial suicide on BMW's part.
Every other publication will show you how the Active Tourer is weak and feeble. Here's what they don't show you. More character lines on the hood, a superior headlight design, at least if we're to consider the optional biLED system from BMW and a more interesting set of taillights.
In side profile, the two are evenly matched, but at the back the shoulders of the 2er are wider and there's a spoiler effect to the boot lid. I'm not saying the B-Class is an inferior car, but from some angles 3 years since its launch have left their mark, aging the design.
