Built on the company’s new Premium Transverse Architecture, the new SUV comes at about the same dimensions as before, as it has the same footprint as the previous generation, 4.37 meters.

Despite this, it offers more interior space because the wheelbase is longer than before, offering an extra 20 mm of knee room and ten percent more luggage space.

Visually, the Evoque’s front end has grown into a more aggressive version, thanks to the narrowed down LED optical blocks and the redesigning of the air intakes at either side of the car. Also, the lines seen of the front hood’s power dome are smoother than on the 2015 model year Evoque.

At the rear, the car shows a heavily redesigned appearance as well. Just as in the front, the optical blocks are narrower and longer than before, while the lines that make up the rear hatch have been seemingly included in the design to confer the Evoque a roundish, much more elegant look.

The overall lines as seen from the side remain unchanged, except for the lower part of the front end where the redesigned air intakes make all the difference.

Engine wise, the new Evoque will come powered by a choice of three and four-cylinder engines, both diesel and gasoline. There will also be several hybrid versions, including mild-hybrid and a plug-in one. Most will be offered with automatic transmissions and all-wheel-drive, just like the Range Rover.

The prices for the new Evoque have already been announced for the British market. There, the model will retail from £31,600. There is no info yet on the pricing for the model in the other 127 countries it will be sold in.
