Peugeot’s 308 CC "Nudeinascarf" Commuters Take Over London

Advertising is always a creative challenge, but Peugeot’s marketers outdone themselves with the "Nudeinscarf" campaign in the UK. What could be more appropriate in order to promote the new Peugeot 308 CC (coupe convertible) if not 308 apparently nude people walking around London?

Let’s imagine one morning you leave home, yours or else’s, with the same destination as always (let’s say work). You do your routine, walking on the street, passing by the same people everyday, seeing the same dog poop in its favorite place.

Suddenly, a mob of what seem to be naked people come towards you. Did you just couldn’t believe your eyes? You stand still open-mouthed and stare? Congratulations! Now you know how Londoners felt this week when the above mentioned nude parade started. Or at least those who didn’t run away screaming.

It wasn’t their birth suit they wore during their walk around the city, but special made bodysuits, extremely similar to human skin. And if we told you they were only having a blue scarf around the neck, what would cross your mind? If your answer wasn’t the 308 CC’s Airwave Neck Heating System a la Mercedes-Benz SLK, it means your imagination got stuck with the naked bodies and froze.

Curious about some technical specs? Well, the Neck Airwave Heating System diffuses warm air through the head rests, protecting the head and neck from the cold.

The engine range for the new 308 CC consists of two engines combined with either a manual transmission or an automatic, both with six speeds. The petrol engine with direct injection and a turbocharger (1.6-liter THP) develops 110 HP, while the diesel engine (2.0-liter HDi with FAP) develops 140 HP. Metallic paint is standard for the Peugeot 308 CC with a choice of Nera Black or Pearl White.

The 308 CC was first presented in October 2009 at the Paris Motor show and will be available on sale from June 1, 2009.
