After experiencing quite a great success two years ago with a similar creation, Peugeot has recently unveiled its latest Art Toys collection. Showcased in the French automaker’s exclusive exhibit store located right on Paris’ famous Champs Elysees boulevard, the toys are limited edition figurines inspired by the 1990s Hong Kong and Japan.
It’s just another effort of yet another automaker to stay cool and sell the weirdest things car lovers can imagine in order to push their sales forward. Is it unique? Probably not. But it seems fans like it.

You see, for car manufacturers winter is really coming and we’re not trying to stay cool saying the famous Game of Thrones line. Winter means holidays and that is just about the perfect occasion for the auto industry when it comes to being creative... and selling cars of course.

And with the lights and Christmas market on the Champs Elysees inaugurated the other day, Peugeot figured it was the proper moment to show their fans how the newly renovated, 300-square meter (3,230 sq. ft.) Peugeot Avenue showroom looks like. Apart from some of the company’s car models, starting today until January 1st 2015, people can see the first collection of Art Toys bearing the image of Peugeot lion.

According to Peugeot, the first series of 12 art toys were developed by the Peugeot Design Lab in partnership with Artoyz, with each priced at EUR11 ($14). Six of the series art toy models were designed by internationally renowned artists and all of the models draw inspiration from the world of contemporary art, poetry, chemistry, origami, architecture and fashion.

We put up quite a nice photo gallery of Peugeot’s new toy collection and also added some of their exhibition main attractions, which includes the new Peugeot 508 GT facelift, as well as the 1905 Lion-Peugeot Type VA.
