Even though it’s not apparent, camper vans and caravaning are rather popular in Europe for all the right reasons. Peugeot wants a bigger piece of the market with the Partner Alpin Camper, which combines the space of a van with the comfort of a passenger car according to the French automaker.
Scheduled to premiere on August 29th at the Caravan Salon 2019, the newcomer comes with a rearview camera, parking sensors up front and at the rear, and a pull-out bed with an area of 112 by 195 centimeters. A 60-millimeter mattress should be comfortable enough for a good night’s sleep, and cooking hasn’t been forgotten either thanks to the addition of a kitchen block.

A cartridge stove and a sink are featured, joined by a countertop for the preparation of the food. As a weekend warrior to the countryside or whatever place you fancy, there’s no denying the Partner Alpin Camper is more than up for it. But wait, there’s more!

Enter the Traveller, now available with the iBox from Irmscher Automobilbau. A shower, bedroom, and kitchen rolled into a camper module, the Traveller with the iBox also includes a two-burner stove and space for a cooler. In terms of packaging, however, we’re more inclined to believe that the Partner Alpin Camper is the better Peugeot of the two models.

As the world’s largest fair for caravans, the Caravan Salon 2019 is an important event for the French automaker and sister brand Citroen. The doors open to the public on August 30th, and the exhibits cand be admired through September 8th at the Dusseldorf Exhibition Center.

In regards to suck-squeeze-bang-blow, the Partner is available with two turbo diesels (1.6-liter BlueHDi with 75 PS or 1.5-liter BlueHDi with 130 PS) or a turbo gasoline (1.2-liter PureTech with 110 PS). Being that bit larger and heavier, the Traveller comes as standard with the 1.5-liter BlueHDi and 120 PS on tap. Versions with 150 or 180 metric horsepower are also available in Germany.
