Peugeot recently showed pictures of their stunning Onyx concept, a supercar powered by a 680 hp diesel-electric drivetrain. However, Peugeot are also very good at two-wheeled vehicles, as they have been making them since the company started.
To show the world that they are also at the cutting edge of scooter design, Peugeot will also be bringing a scooter concept to the Paris Motor Show, to sit alongside the Onyx supercar. It has been designed based on the same design style, and it perfectly matches the design of the car, while being sufficiently different to make its own impact.
The Onyx Scooter is powered by a plug-in hybrid powertrain which uses a 0.4-liter petrol engine, in conjunction with an electric motor, reaching a total output of 60 hp (45 kW) and 58 Nm of torque. Those figures are enough to allow the scooter to reach a maximum speed of 150 km/h (93 mph), while using only 2.0 l/100km (141 UK mpg) of fuel.
Sadly, Peugeot has no plans to put it into production, but its styling will undoubtedly trickle down into their series models in coming years. We will be bringing you live pictures from Paris, and we will hopefully get a better view of this excellently designed scooter.
