Peugeot fired three shots in quick succession with the Fractal: first there were the teasers, then a large part of the photos got leaked and finally, the French had nothing more to lose and made the full official unveiling.
It's been a long time since Peugeot had so much of our attention just for themselves. This new concept car is very interesting either way you look at it: as a design study, or as a technological platform.

We've talked about the design before and we're sticking to what we said. It looks great, a lot more "production ready" than most of the concepts we see these days, if we're to overlook the interior - which is bonkers.

Peugeot calls the Fractal a "prospective electric urban coupé design" and since we don't know what to make of it, we can't really argue with them. And as long as their concepts keep looking like this, they can call them what they want.

The Peugeot Fractal uses an innovative '9.1.2' sound system which uses tactile bass systems built into the back of each seat. For the driver, this system doubles as a means of getting more info on the road and an overall more involved driving experience.

The i-Cockpit is taken one step further with the Peugeot Fractal which uses a high-resolution holographic screen head-up display and a 45-degree polycarbonate strip for additional (and customizable) information.

Despite its pocket-size dimensions, the Peugeot Fractal offers room for four with the interior made up of 80 percent 3D printed parts. That pattern, though, is certainly not complying with safety regulations...

Power is supplied by two electric motors on each of the two axles, which means the Peugeot Fractal is a 4WD vehicle. Each motor develops 102 hp for a total output of 204 hp, while the 30 kWh battery pack housed in the central tunnel is good for a 450 km (280 miles) autonomy.

Time for some performance figures. Despite being an electric vehicle, the Peugeot Fractal manages to keep its weight down for a total of just 1,000 kg (2,205 lbs). That way it can accelerate from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 6.8 seconds and cover 1,000 meters (0.62 miles) from a standstill in 28.8 seconds.

We're sure the list of gimmicks up Fractal's sleeve is even longer, but we have to stop here. There will probably be more on this concept once it's publicly unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show, but until then this will have to do.

The real question now is how much of what the Fractal is showing us will actually go into future Peugeot models and how soon will it happen? Most likely answer? Not that much and not very soon, which is a crying shame.
