With 31% sales increases reported during the first quarter of 2013, Peugeot has every reason to forget all about its European troubles and focus on what Chinese consumers want. But instead of bringing long wheelbase sedans to the 2013 Shanghai Auto Show, they went for something completely different.
Their most amazing concept car to date, the Onyx, will be on display there. This is a powerful diesel racer hiding behind a blend of old and new contraction materials. Part of the car's body is formed by hand from copper sheet, and the interior is fabricated out of recycled newspapers.

The innovative Hybrid Air technology which Peugeot says could be used on all its cars in coming years will also be on display. With the With the 308 four-door Saloon, the 408, the 508 and the new 3008, launched in January 2013, Peugeot is pretty much covered if you also consider the affordable 301 sedan with is being previews ahead of its debut late this year.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
