We have to admit, we still have our doubts about the Peugeot 208. It's a decent supermini, but it also doesn't have the engine technology that some of its rivals have, while on paper it's also quite expensive. But, the cute little bug is very good-looking, and Peugeot dealers are known for working with huge discounts.
One year after the 208 was launched across Europe, Peugeot published some sales figures that surprised even us. The car in the middle of this photo is the 300,000th unit they've produced at the PSA Peugeot Citroën production plant at Poissy, and it's already been delivered.

On the occasion of the production of the 300, 000th Peugeot 208, Gaëlle Monteiller, Director of the Poissy site, and Marc Giulioli, Marketing Director at Peugeot France, met with a new 208 customer, from Toulouse, for a symbolic handover of the car's keys.

These figures actually match Peugeot's sales expectations and prove the 208 is every bit as successful a supermini as the 206 was.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
