Years passed without anybody ever lavishing Peugeot's hot cars with any attention. But all that changed last year when the 208 GTi came out and started picking fights with the Clio RS. For some, that might be enough, not for Peugeot though, who are reading 3 extreme new products to wow the crowds.
The lion brand really can't resist bringing something different and is planning even more extreme things with the bigger 308, the car that recently won the World Car of the Year title. At the Frankfurt Motor Show last year, the company unveiled a 308 R concept, which caused quite a stir. The breath of life has now apparently been breathed onto the car, and according to Autocar, that concept is going straight into production in 2015.

"So why all the excitement?", you may ask. It's all about that 270 horsepower 1.6-liter turbo, the most powerful of its kind fitted to a production car. It's already been fitted to the RCZ R, making that coupe a faster car than the Megane RS. Of course, hot hatch fans don't want a coupe, they want a hot hatch, so the 308 R is big news.

Also coming out of Peugeot Sport's skunk works labs are a road-going version of the 2008 DKR as well as on a specially modified 208 T16 Pikes Peak that will be used to set a new absolute Nurburgring lap record.

Cool stuff Peugeot, cool stuff!

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
