Adult occupant protection was rated at 86%, while child occupant protection was graded at 85%. Pedestrian safety was noted at 67%, and the level of safety assist was at 58% of available points.

The all-new 3008 did not get maximum points in any category, but scored enough everywhere to land itself a good position. Among the tests that sapped its total score are those that focus on adult occupant protection.

In the impact test with a frontal offset deformable barrier, the driver’s chest protection level was “Marginal,” while the same body part of the passenger was just “Adequate.” Both their left knees also got an "Adequate" level of protection.

In the frontal full width impact test, the rear passenger’s neck protection level was adequate, according to the data recovered from the sensors, while the driver’s chest and neck had the same degree of protection. In the side impact test with a pole, the driver’s chest also received the same grade, adequate.

Child protection was rated at 85% overall, but the reason is linked to the behavior of the car in conjunction with some child seats tested by EuroNCAP together with this model.

In their tests, the level of protection for the chest of a six-year-old child in a Romer kidfix XP was “marginal” in the trial, while the protection for a ten-year-old kid sitting in a Graco Booster was rated “Adequate” for the chest and neck.

The 3008 lost some points on the overall test even though it has an autonomous emergency braking system with a pedestrian detection function. While EuroNCAP has noted that it operated well, the results of its test are not included in the conclusion because the system is not standard on every grade.

For the same reason, there is no score on the behavior of the AEB system in a city environment. The same motive also led to a reduction of the score achieved for “Safety Assist.” Since Peugeot already got five stars with the 3008, it does not intend to ask for a new test or modify its equipment range.
