Peugeot 3008 Adventure Concept Is a Reminder of What SUVs Are All About

Seeing so many SUVs on city roads, it's forget that these vehicles are meant for more than just cruising along on even tarmac. The Sport attributes of this type of car are clearly outweighed by the Utility dimensions SUV owners like to exploit so much.

Luckily, from time to time, carmakers take it upon themselves to reminds us of the SUV segment lineage. Most of the times, these flashbacks come in the form of one-off concepts that unfortunately will never get produced.

So is the case with the latest Peugeot concept, an adventure-style 3008 that makes us crave for more.

Built using a 3008 1.6-liter PureTech GT Line model as a base, this concept shows precisely what a car this size should look and feel like if fitted for adventure. Finished in a unique wrap, the SUV is equipped with all that’s needed for a worth-remembering off-road adventure.

The car rides on 17-inch steel wheels shod in Cooper AT3 off-road tires and sports an underbody protection, as well as an LED bar on top of the roof.

Also on top of the car sits an expedition-style ARB Simpson tent, mounted on top of an aluminum rack. At the rear, fitted on the hatch, there is a bicycle rack.

The car as you see here has been created for a special appearance in the Top Gear Magazine. To prove its worth, it took to the Ho Chi Minh trail in Vietnam where it demonstrated its abilities.

Peugeot will never offer this conversion to its customers, but this concept goes to prove what SUV owners can do with their cars once they put their mind to it.

“With relatively minor modifications, the 3008 has tackled some tough terrain, proving the effectiveness of its Advanced Grip Control technology and demonstrating its true outdoor potential,” said in a statement David Peel, Peugeot UK managing director.
