Peugeot's eagerly-anticipated 208 GTi, a car hot hatch fans have been looking forward to for many years, is almost here. Now, the hot Peugeot has just received its official price tag, for the UK market, where it is set to cost from £18,895.
The car is powered by a 1.6-liter engine, which is aided by a turbocharger to make 200 hp. It is also used in the RCZ, as well as the Mini Cooper S and some entry-level BMWs. However, in the Peugeot, the engine is in its highest state of tune.

This puts it on par, and makes the figures very similar, with the Renault Clio RS, the Mk. IV, which makes the same power from an engine displacing 1.6 liters boosted by a turbo. With the turbocharged unit under the bonnet, the Peugeot will sprint to 100 km/h or 62 mph two tenths under seven seconds.

Also, despite being around £2,000 more expensive than one of its main rivals, the new Ford Fiesta ST, the 208 GTi does come well-equipped, with 17-inch alloys, parking sensors, automatic air conditioning and bucket seats.

The car is set to make its debut some time after it goes into production in April of this year.
