Peugeot is currently preparing to become a player of the hot hatch game again, with the 208 being the model used for this. The French carmaer has now released the first teaser of the 208 GTI, as one of the two upcoming hot versions of the hatch will be called.
Like we previously reported, there will be two go-fast incarnations of the 208: the first one will be called GTI and will be powered by a 160 hp version of the turbocharged 1.6-liter engine created by the PSA together with BMW.
The hotter version, which could use the GTI Racing (GTI R) designation, will use a 210 hp version of the powerplant. The standard version of the 208 is set to come to the market in June, while the hot ones are expected later in the year.
