Peter Solberg Carves His Own Road Through Vineyard - Crashes into Pole

Rally drivers are very determined and very concentrated on the task at hand, when they drive their four-wheel drive cars as fast as they can. Northern European countries have given us so many excellent racing drivers, and one of them is Petter Solberg. However, in contrast to his usually impeccable technique, he fails to judge a corner and ends up in a vineyard.
However, instead of stopping, then backing up onto the road, the Norwegian decides that the best course of actions would be to gun it for all it’s got! He gets out of the first patch of vines, only to cross the road he was supposed to reach, then back into a patch of vines, and finally crashing into and felling a concrete electricity pole.

The rather amusing incident took place during the WRC Rallye de France, but thankfully nobody got hurt, despite the rally-spec Ford Fiesta slamming into the pole with quite a bit of momentum. The co-driver can be heard saying ‘the road is over there’, but by the time he finishes, they are already planted at the base of the aforementioned pole.
