One does not necessarily have to be a reckless rider in order to crash. Sometimes all that's needed is few things all at the same (wrong) time in the same (wrong) place. And if we ere to create an equation to put cold weather, wet roads, plenty of dead, decaying leaves together, the end is pretty much obvious.
The guy in this video found out that having all these together in the absence of careful driving equals a crash. And if lack of awareness is to be counted along insufficient riding experience, the crash is of course, to be judged in terms of “when and how bad” instead of “if”.
Cold weather means cold asphalt and tires... and these two put together meas lack of grip. Adding in the decaying dead leaves covering the wet road creates a riding surface which can be extremely slippery and can cause a wheelspin at any time, with zero warning.
Thankfully, the guy seems ok as he was back on his feet really quick. And if he had no crashpads or engine guards installed on the bike, he most likely does now.
