After decades of evolution, everybody knows that “America’s sports car” certainly has all the makings of a true hallmark. Even the well-known family-owned Hallmark Cards Inc, apparently. And because it’s never too early to prepare for Christmas, they just presented the newly introduced Chevrolet Corvette Stingray 2021 Ornament, which will become available starting October 2nd.
Because of its enticing design, cool engineering, and, last but not least, affordable pricing, the Chevrolet Corvette has always been a hot commodity. Even more so after the General Motors brand took a chance and reinvented the C8 generation into the mid-engine Stingray wonder that everybody wants a piece of.
Unfortunately, we all know that not everything goes according to plan, and the global health and economic crisis of 2020-2021 has been a clear and disruptive statement from that perspective.
As such, Chevy didn’t manufacture nearly as many C8 ‘Vettes as it planned in the beginning. Just ask any Stingray fan what they’d give to snatch an example right here and now and be amazed at the things people would be willing to do for a piece of the LT2 V8 action.
Granted, a C8 Corvette that’s only a fraction of the size of the real deal (4 inches long, 1.7 inches wide, and 1.2 inches tall—which equates to 10/4.3/3 cm) isn’t going to save the day. But it may very well represent a great Christmas present for a friend, as well as a great ornament for the own family tree.
Best of all, it costs just $19.99, comes as a die-cast metal Keepsake Ornament with turning wheels, and is already pre-packaged in a box for easy gift ideas. As far as we can tell, Hallmark probably discussed with Chevrolet which of the C8 Corvette colors work the best for owners and naturally selected a crimson hue (Torch Red, most likely) for the display.
After all, they claim their goal was to enable anyone to have a “high-performance holiday” this coming Christmas. Details also include many contrasting glossy black touches (wheels, spoiler, front grille, side windows, headlight covers) as well as a “2021” rear license plate.
