Paul Walker’s Fast and Furious Toyota Supra Sells for $185,000 at Auction

We knew Paul Walker is a legend in the auto industry these days. We were also aware of how big the Fast and Furious saga is, considering the latest installment already grossed $1.5 billion. But who would have thought a 1993 Toyota Supra would sell for Ferrari 458 money? Well, it did.

Sure, there’s the celebrity factor that can turn even a pair of sunglasses into a golden treasure, but still. I asked my fellows autoevolution "fighters" how much would they pay for a 1993 Toyota Supra, and trust me, you don’t want to know what the answers were. So instead of writing those figures, I went for the good, old fashion Google search. The first one that popped up was a 140,000-mile Toyota Supra Turbo from Calabasas, California. The price? $32,500.

Sure, we’re far from a regular Japanese ride with the Fast and Furious stunt car in question. As we previously mentioned, the vehicle was built by veteran auto mechanic Eddie Paul at The Shark Shop in El Segundo, California. This puppy has a particular 3.0-liter inline-6 engine producing a proper 220 horsepower. Its strength is augmented by the twin Holley Performance nitrous oxide bottles mounted in the rear compartment.

We’re looking at a beast that may have the same name, but it’s a different deal than a regular Supra. The stunt car was expertly reinforced with heavy-duty suspension, a full roll cage, competition seats and a Jaz Products fuel cell. Things get serious with this collectible, race-worthy if you wish.

Yes, yes, but would we ever pay $185,000 for it? Honestly? I think the right question rather is “would we ever have that money to spend on a car?”
