As far as collectibles go, cars that were once part of Paul Walker’s impressive collection are very desirable. But this one is even more so, for a variety of other reasons.
A very rare 1965 Shelby 427 Cobra CSX1000 series is coming up for auction with Mecum as part of the Steve Todhunter Collection that will go under the hammer between March 19 and 20. Commissioned by Carroll Shelby in the late ‘90s and drawing inspiration from the old racing rivalry between Ford and Ferrari, the CSX1000 series includes only 14 examples.

Of these 14, two are specialty FAM editions, whereas FAM stands for “Ferrari’s A*s is Mine.” This is one of those two cars bearing the FAM badge, and it used to belong to the late Fast and Furious star and known car collector, Paul Walker.

Serial number CSX1010 is painted in Rosso Corsa and comes with a tan leather interior, much like the Ferraris it’s supposed to be openly mocking. In case the jab is lost on onlookers, it bears FAM badges throughout, but, of course, they’d have to know what it means in order to get it.

Powered by a matching numbers Shelby 427 FE aluminum V8 engine delivering 550 hp and mated to Tremec TKO600 5-speed manual transmission, this beautiful machine comes with 4-wheel independent suspension, Shelby aluminum differential housing, rack and pinion steering, oil cooler and dual-fan aluminum radiator, and Wilwood brakes with Shelby calipers.

The body is hand-rolled aluminum by AC Cars. Other features include Shelby custom carpeting, stainless steel roll bar, original-style steering wheel, and S/C dash layout.

This isn’t the first time that the CSX1010 crosses the auction block, though. It was sold by the Paul Walker Estate shortly after the actor’s passing, with just 15 miles (24 km) on the clock. Just to give you an idea of what to expect in terms of how much it could go for this time, it fetched $395,000.
