Paul Teutul Sr. of Orange County Choppers fame responded to an article published in the Times Herald, according to which the Hudson Valley-based company was about to close its doors.
On Tuesday, Teutul Sr. appeared on the Boris & Robyn Show on WPDH to clarify the situation and his criticism triggered an update from Times Herald-Record Executive Editor Barry Lewis for the Friday article. "OCC isn’t going any place, you know, it's funny how people wake up into the day and just make up a story and send it out without checking anything out," Paul Sr. said straight from the beginning of the show.

According to the OCC boss, the whole story started out with a misleading assertion that linked the auction of the Newburgh building where OCC has been for years to the company itself.

What really happened, Teutul Sr. tells, is that the current owners of the building plan to sell it and will auction it off. However, what the Times Herald did not bother to check out before publishing the story is that Orange County Choppers have a standing lease contract there, spanning over 10 years.

The whole thing started out when the auction company selling the property used OCC's status as a tenant in an online advertisement, causing media to erroneously report that OCC was for sale. Paul Sr. adds that his business is tied to the building itself, regardless of who gets the rent checks.

Mr. Teutul also added that he started shooting another bike-themed TV series, but said it would be a more craft-centric enterprise that also involves his son Mikey. "Kind of the same premises, but without the drama. You know, people don't really want the drama anymore... it's more about building a bike, and my son Mickey is back with me," Teutul added.

We're trying to find out more about the new TV show, so make sure to check back with us.
