Being part of one of the world’s most famous bands ever comes with a lot of publicity. But Sir Paul McCartney didn’t care about the paparazzi as he celebrated his 80th birthday with his family on board a luxury yacht in Mykonos, Greece.
Over the weekend, Sir Paul McCartney took a trip off to the Greek island of Mykonos with his entire family. There, they chartered a luxury yacht, and the party began.
He was joined on board the unnamed vessel by his wife, Nancy Shevell, 62, and his daughters Stella, 50, and Mary, 52, plus Stella’s husband, Alasdhair, and Mary’s sons Arthur, 23, and Elliot, 19.
Although the name of the luxurious vessel the entire McCartney family partied on is not visible, from the pictures online we could see that it offered a lot of water entertainment and that it boasts lots of wood accents on the main deck.
John and Nancy took a dip in the water, while his famous fashion designer daughter Stella was more adventurous and was seen using a role to haul herself in and out of the water.
Mary, who is a professional photographer, was in charge of taking all the family photos during their holiday. At one point, the former Beatles member was seen opening presents from his family on board and looking very relaxed, as you can see in the attached pictures below.
Over the weekend, the famous musician received a lot of birthday wishes from fellow celebrities, including fellow Beatles bandmate Ringo Star and Yoko Ono, late John Lennon’s widow, plus Piers Morgan, Rolling Stones’ Ronnie Wood, and Mich Hucknall. Yoko shared a throwback picture of her and Paul on Twitter, writing, “Dear Paul, Happy 80th Birthday and many, many more! From a partner in Peace... love, yoko.”
The birthday celebrations came just a few days before Paul is set to perform at Glastonbury on Saturday, making him the oldest solo artist to headline the festival.
