Remember our early-2014 story on the revival of the Paton motorcycles? Well, things are going quite well so far, as it looks like production will start in one month’s time, with no less than 25 bikes already commissioned.
The Paton S1 is powered by the nimble Kawasaki ER-6n engine which can also be found in the Ninja 650 machine. The mill is good for some 72 horsepower, and since the wet weight is 158 kg (349 lbs), this machine is surely going to be a lot of fun both on the track and in the urban environment.

Paton S1 comes with a Claudio Colombo frame and Termignoni exhaust, which also helps improve a bit the power output. At the same time, the engine is capable to produce usable torque even in the low-rev range, offering a rewarding experience in pretty much all the non-racing scenarios.

According to bikeexif, the Paton S1 can do 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in less than 4 seconds, which is yet another good feature, besides the 215 km/h (133 mph) top speed. The bikes are custom-made according to the specs of each customer, and the whole manufacturing process takes about 6 months. Paton offers 4 trims with prices ranging from €16,000 to €23,000 ($22,000-31,600), with an upfront deposit.

The Milan-based manufacturer is still making replicas of its successful retro machines, the 1968 BL3 R and BM3 R for privateers racing in competitions dedicated to classic bikes. Fancy such a machine and have enough dough? Drop Paton a line.
