Romanian carmaker Dacia has brought no less than three brand new cars to the Paris Motor Show this year, this being the most important, the replacement for the Logan sedan, which has been on the market for eight years.
From the start, we noticed this car is more distinctive than its predecessor, with simple side profiles but very strong front end. The new Logan is styled in a modern, edgy way, inspired by the Lodgy and the Duster.
The interior will be made in two tones, charcoal black or a two-tone job. Depending on the trim level, the affordable wonder from Romania will have a bit of chrome here and there and other decorative pieces.
Renault’s engineers worked on this part of the car especially hard, wanting to give a more quality feel to the inside. This shows they are thinking of the driver, not just what everybody else thinks of this car. The trunk is a massive 510 liters, the best in its class.
For the first time, New Dacia Logan and New Dacia Sandero are available with the TCe 90, a new turbo motor that displaces only 898cc and delivers CO2 emissions below 120 g/km. It delivers 66 kW (90 hp) at 5,250 rpm and generates 135 Nm from low engine speeds (90% from 1,650 rpm).
Also available with the Logan 2 will be offered with the 1.2 16v 75, a 1.2-liter Euro 5 motor with 55 kW (75 hp) that will also come as an LPG variant.
The diesel Logan 2 will be the dCi 75 and 90 models, powered by 1.5-liter turbodiesel with either 75 hp and 200 Nm or 90 hp and 220 Nm.
Buyers with deeper pockets will be glad to know that the new Logan comes with one all-important upmakret feature, a navigation and infotainment screen in the center console, which will be available asa a €400 optional extra in Europe, just like on the Lodgy MPV. This plays your favorite tune, lets you change some of the car’s settings and gets you where you’re going through satellite navigation.
