As far as toys go, this has to be the most exciting we’ve seen in a long time. After all, what else would you consider a small car with red mirrors, huge wheels, no seats in the back and a huge wing?
Let’s forget you’re going to pay a small fortune to own one of these MINIs, since only 2000 will be built, and focus on the performance.

The fastest and most powerful production MINI ever is powered by a familiar 1.6-liter turbo, which has been retuned to produce 215hp (218PS), up from the regular JCW's 208hp (211PS). Until Citroen or peugeot does something about this, it’s the most powerful 1.6-liter out there.

The quoted numbers are 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 6.3 seconds and a top speed of 242 km/h (150 mph).

The JCW GP II as it will probably be known is most probably to be considered a track car. The regular JCW was already a harshly sprung car on the road, and this will be even more so, since it’s been lowered by 20 mm. The front shocks were mounted upside down in the tubes, while the piston rods are pointed downward to increase lateral stiffness, which is good for cornering.

Soon, the internet will be flooded with track videos of this machine going round various famous circuits. MINI themselves did a banzai run around the Nurburgring and got the JCW GP round in just 8 minutes 18 seconds.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
