Kia has unveiled a brand new three-door C-segment coupe with FWD in the form of the 2013 Pro_Cee’d at the Paris Motor Show.
We’ve never been fans of the name, but the styling is, without a doubt, quite interesting for a car that will most likely underprice all its competitors when it’s launched next year.

The Pro_Cee’d has all new sporty styling, especially down the side and at the back. The arches are more powerful and it’s ket that kink in the lower doors from the previous generation.

"The first pro_cee'd surprised a lot of people," adds Gregory Guillaume, Kia's Chief Designer Europe. "We wanted to build on that elevated expectation with this new model and continue to surprise and delight Kia drivers. The new five-door cee'd takes on the emotional level of the outgoing pro_cee'd, so the role of the new pro_cee'd is to push forward, forge ahead."
The Koreans have kept the engine range a secret, but we have information suggesting they will use the same 1.4 and 1.6-liter petrol and diesel as the 5-door while adding new 1.2 and 1.6 T-GDi turbo units.

“This car embodies emotion and energy through and through,” explains Peter Schreyer, Kia’s Chief Design Officer. “You know from a single glance that this is a car you want to drive, not just own. Kia is on a distinctive design adventure and the all new pro-cee’d spearheads this forward looking journey.”

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
