Is that a bird? A plane? Superman? No, it’s a flying dog: his name is Henry and he is a cockapoo that has just been named Britain’s bravest pet because he loves to fly.
Henry is a paragliding dog, in the sense that he always accompanies his humans, Amy Jones and Joe McCarthy, and Amy’s father Rob, whenever they go flying. He has a special little harness that is used to strap him to his flying companion, is always very calm and happy whenever he’s over the British countryside.

A video of Henry and Rob high in the air, flying over Wales, is also available at the bottom of the page. The Daily Mail notes that Henry has been nominated for the award of Britain’s bravest pet and the ceremony will be taking place in London. He will probably show up in person to collect.

Amy tells the publication that Henry flies regularly over Wales and has even flown over the Alps. They go there annually, and Henry wouldn’t miss the chance for anything in the world. Henry is heavily into other sports, as well.

“Henry is hilarious - his expressions are very funny because he is always so happy,”
the owner says. “We go over to the Alps every year in a VW campervan and Henry comes with us and flies. As soon as he gets his harness on to paraglide you can tell he wants to go – as soon as it is on he's ready.”

“Joe and I are very active and he does everything with us. We take him to Lake Annecy where he flies, swims and cycles in the trailer – it's great,”
Amy continues. “Passersby expect it to be a kid in the back but then they see his little head. People think we are bonkers but it's so funny.”

Bonkers, indeed. Here’s a cockapoo (cocker spaniel + poodle, a designer breed) who may be more physically active than your average adult person.
