A photographer was hit by a car and killed after taking pictures of Justin Bieber’s Ferrari 458 Italia, which had been pulled over by the California Highway Patrol. The white 458 had been stopped for a traffic violation, but Bieber was not present, with the car being driven by one of his friends.
The paparazzo took the photos on the 405 Freeway, where the car was located and was returning to his car on foot when he was hit by a vehicle traveling on Sepulveda Boulevard. Police officers report that the photographer crossed the road without looking and was hit by a passing SUV. The paramedics tried to revive the badly injured man on the spot but he was pronounced dead subsequently at a local hospital.
Bieber released a statement after he learned about the crash: “While I was not present nor directly involved with this tragic accident, my thoughts and prayers are with the family of the victim. Hopefully this tragedy will finally inspire meaningful legislation.”
Justin Bieber has a history of unpleasant paparazzi-related events. One of the latest took place a few months ago, when the singer stopped his white 458 in the middle of the road in order to argue with a photographer who was following him.
