Italian supercar manufacturer Pagani has released a teaser that previews a future Zonda model. Although the new photo comes with no addition information, the depicted vehicle should be the new Zonda R Evolution.
Based on the Zonda R, the lighter Evolution version is expected to come with improved aerodynamics and the an extra 50 HP for a total output of about 800 HP. This means that it should be able to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) faster than the Zonda R, which is rated at 2.7 seconds.
The R Evolution will also feature a bigger air spliter, a pair of small splitter on the sides of the rear bumper, a bigger rear central fin and a small spoiler added below the Zonda R spoiler for increased downforce.
Sporting the same Mercedes-Benz AMG-sourced 6.0-liter V12 engine under the rear bonnet, the Pagani Zonda R Evolution is rumored to be produced in only five units. Introduced in 2009, the “regular” Zonda R was built in 15 examples.
