Pagani test driver Davide Testi has recently let it slip that the automaker is planing an even more hardcore incarnation of the Huayra. To be more precise, the hypercar will receive a track-inspired version set to be named the Nurburgring Edition.
The information was revealed by a Teamspeed forum user, who got the chance to talk to Testi about Pagani’s plans for the Huayra. The details of the vehicle are unkown for the moment, so, for example, we’ll have to wait in order to find out if this will be a track-confined or a street legal Huayra. The production “volume” is expected to sit somewhere between 15 and 25 units.

The conversation reveals a bouquet of interesting info with Pagani’s name all over them. We’ll carry on with the overall production plan for the Huayra - check out the plaque on each of the cars and you’ll notice that it shows the number of that particular unit, out of 100. Well, according to Testi, Pagani will actually make 110 units of the Huayra coupe.

The test driver came to confirm the previous report stating the Pagani Huayra Roadster is coming despite the delay, explaining that we’ll receive 110 units of the creature.

Moreover, it appears that while the cars are being produced by Pagani Automobili in Italy, they are sold by US-based Pagani Worldwide LLC, not just to US, but to worldwide customers. As it turns out, the US market has already swallowed 40 units of the Huayra.

Pagani seems to have gotten quite a good grip on the American market. This is a much-needed move, for several reasons. First of all, Testi revealed European sales are going slow “due to the economic crisis”. Then there’s Pagani’s missed Zonda opportunity, as the Huyra’s predecessor was not officially allowed on US roads. Some aficionados did drive Zondas in America, but most of them had to turn to the Show and Display rules, which only allow 2,500 miles (1,550 km) per year.
