If we had to choose THE Nurburgring news of the moment, that would be Pagani joining the production car lap record race. We showed you the Huayra BC flying on the Nordschleife earlier this week and we're back on the topic to bring you some stunning footage of the stopwatch work.
Despite the $2.5 million beast not needing anything more than a smartphone recording to shine, the first clip below brings a particularly spectacular take on the matter - while the vast majority of Nordschleife clip bring us the almost-raw footage, we're dealing with a cinematic take here.

For the sake of both comparison and sheer entertainment, we've also added a second clip, one that brings the "normal" approach mentioned above.

The driver making the twin-turbo V12 contraption dance its way from one vibrator to another is Marc Basseng. We're talking about a GT racer whose sheer presence behind the wheel is a strong indication of the fact that Pagani wants to grab the Porsche 918's title - the Zuffenhausen gas-electric monster is a 6:57 car, remember?

You see, Basseng is not just familiar with the laurels that arrive when one sets a new Green Hell record, but also with pulling such a stunt behind the wheel of vehicles signed off by Horacio Pagani. Among others, his Ring achievements include lap records in the Zonda R and, if you prefer sticking to cars that can be driven on the street, the Ferrari Enzo.

Curiously, we haven't heard anything from Koenigsegg and we're talking about potential teasers following the we're-rebuilding-the-totaled-One:1 announcement.

With about two months left of the 2016 Ring season, here's to hoping the Angelholm people get to finish their work on time, so we can see the One:1 and the Huayra Benny Caiola battling in the real world, not just as numbers on our screens.
