Pac Man Rock'n'Roll With Real Cars

Ah, Pac Man... Who on this planet isn't familiar with the 1980s video game, the first not to deal with shooting down squares and triangles amid the annoying sounds of Space Invaders or Asteroids. Thirty years or so since its release, Pac Man still rocks the world for some players, who prefer it to high-adrenaline, 3D video games of the present.

The popularity of the game is even more present in Asia these days. Not because of a new version of the game being released, not because there's an anniversary celebration or anything, but because of Chevrolet and some guys with crazy ideas.

The guys with the crazy ideas were hired by Chevy to popularize the Cruze model on the Chinese market, and the below video is what they came up with: a huge Pac Man map, five Cruzes, a bunch of lights and more than one video camera.

And here you have it: a real-life, full-scale version of Pac Man, played with real cars. Now, the driving performed by the ones who take the Cruzes in the maze is quite good, but if you watch carefully, you notice that the video is being fast-forwarded at times.

As for the song chosen for the commercial, we don't know what's up with that. We mean, it's entertaining and all, but there are more than a fair share of “F”words in there for the sensitive ears of the Chinese TV content watchdogs.

Anyway, fun to watch, but the bottom line is it could have been done better.
