P. Diddy Chooses iPad Solemates Megayacht for Family Vacation

American music producer Sean “P. Diddy” Combs sure knows how to make a vacation worth a while, as he was recently reported chartering the Solemates luxury megayacht, which was designed by Espen Oeino and launched by Germany’s Lurssen earlier this year.

The high-tech $600,000 per week craft served as a vacation venue for Diddy, girlfriend Kim Porter and their daughters D’Lila and Jessie. Fergie of the Black Eyed Peas had also visited.

What is really interesting about the Solemates is that this is the first yacht of its kind to offer the possibility to be controlled by the clients via the iPad. The device controls the shipboard entertainment, climate and lighting systems and even summons crewmembers to bring refreshments.

Inside, the yacht is capable of accommodating 12 guests in six luxurious cabins, offering a blend of elegant, rich woods and textures and classical details paired with contemporary, sleek lines. The craft boasts a top speed of 15.5 knots with a range of 7,000 nautical miles.

“The main and upper deck salons are awash with natural light and offer impressive spaces for formal dining or casual dining and entertaining. The sun deck features a dining area and a sun lounge wrapped around the Jacuzzi forward. A disco sound and lighting system turns it into an al fresco nightclub at nightfall. The yacht accommodates 12 guests in spacious cabins are located on the lower deck with a fifth placed on the upper deck between the bridge and the upper salon,” JamesList say.
