Dubai is slowly turning into a scene of ruined supercars, as more and more hundred-thousand-dollars vehicles find their end on the streets. Sure, it has nothing to do with the city itself, but rather with the amount of opulence people live by there. Motorists are rich enough to use the Lamborghini Aventador as a daily driver. Even so, watching your almost $400,000 ride burning to ashes must be a really bad experience, no matter how big your bank account is.
The video below clearly shows how a man is desperately using a fire extinguisher to try and put it out, but the flames eventually take over the entire supercar. When the firefighters get to it, there’s not a lot left out of the yellow Aventador other than carbonized car parts. According to the Daily Mail, the video was taken by a wealthy Russian tourist, who filmed the moment on his phone and later posted it on his Instagram.

Even though the footage clearly shows the car was reduced to a mere smoldering carcass, the fire firefighters still doused the car with water as smoke would continue to pour out from underneath. Seeing this Aventador torched to the ground sort of makes that commercial with the Lamborghini rising from an active volcano seem a bit weird.

We’re referring to the commercial directed by Alessandro Pacciani, a man who’s done the same thing for ads covering BMW, Audi, Nike, Samsung, Google and Universal products. Sure, the idea was completely different and had nothing to do with the destruction of a supercar, but rather with the creation of one. The ad is, in fact, promoting a tuned carbon Lamborghini and is quite cool.

Getting back to our story, the reason the Aventador burst into flames is still unknown, although rumors are it has something to do with a malfunction with the engine.
