Owner of Charred Camaro SS Wants GM to Help Finance a ZL1

What does it mean to live the American dream? Marry the prom queen, drive a V8 muscle car and make your own way in life, by legal means if possible. This guy seems to fit all the criteria, yet somehow the dream isn’t quite as sweet as you’d think.
Christopher J. Williams use to be the proud owner of a 2010 Chevy Camaro SS, which he probably bought in 2009, right as production was starting. This makes him a hardcore fan in our book.

The problem is his beloved SS recently caught fire due to a problem which is yet unknown but might be related to the first ever recall of the fifth-generation Camaro. Back in May 2009, the car was recalled due to a fire risk posed by a short circuit caused by the battery cable rubbing against the starter motor housing.

GM said it would contact the 1,243 owners directly or through the dealer network, but Mr. Williams says he was never told. He says that he doesn’t expect GM to give him a new car, but would like them to finance the ZL1 he’s been dreaming off.

"I am not asking GM to give me a new car. I am asking Dan Akerson to order his GM financing division to finance a 2012 or 2013 ZL1 for me. I can handle $600.00 per month payments no problem. This car was my dream and I loved her. Please GM stand behind your product," William says.

Seems reasonable, but why can’t he buy the car himself? "I had a full time job when I bought the car but I own my own company now and banks are scared to lend money to a new business owner. GM Please sell me a ZL1 and finance it for me. I will make all the payments but I need your help. I am an average working Joe working hard. I am a Chevy man and I deserve to be helped out," the Camaro lover explains.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
