Owen Developments To Supply Turbos for 2011 BTCC

The British forced induction specialist Owen Developments has been appointed as the exclusive turbocharger supplier for the British Touring Car Championship.

The company has reached an agreement with TOCA to provide single specification turbos for the Next Generation Touring Cars (NGTC), with the contract running until 2015.

Everyone at Owen’s is extremely proud that we have been selected to supply turbochargers for a championship as prestigious and as high profile as the BTCC. This success recognizes Owen Developments technical expertise and commitment to excellence in the field of turbocharging and also represents a superb challenge that all our staff will rise to,” said Owen Development’s MD Brian Owen, commenting on the TOCA/ BTCC contract announcement.

Owen has already debuted the delivery of 2011 NGTC spec BTCC turbochargers in order to allow teams to perform their closed season testing activities. The company is currently enhancing production, maintenance and customer support, in order to be ready for next year’s season.

At the start of 2010 Owen’s commenced a supply of bespoke specification turbochargers to Mountune Racing, engine builders for the Team Aon / Arena Motorsport BTCC LPG Focus’s. As the year progressed, it was clear that the Owen Developments turbocharger was a factor enabling the Team Aon / Arena Motorsport Focus to be consistently amongst the fastest cars in the BTCC, taking seven race wins and six pole positions throughout the season,” stated the press release, showing that the company’s products were able to deliver a high level of boost while also being reliable.
