Owen Developments, Mitsubishi Sign Distribution Deal for the UK

The UK turbocharger specialist Owen Developments has been chosen as the exclusive official Mitsubishi Heavy Industries performance turbo distributor for the UK market by Mitsubishi Turbochargers.

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries produces a wide range of original equipment high-spec turbochargers. These come in a variety of sizes, thus being suitable for multiple add-on and tailored performance applications. Now that Owen Developments also covers this segment, the company’s offer includes the complete range of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries turbos, destined for both tuning and motorsport use. The parts can be fitted to a wide range of brands.

Owen Developments has had a long association remanufacturing turbochargers for Mitsubishi UK for the last 30 years. This directly led to a similar ongoing remanufacturing arrangement with Mitsubishi Europe, which began in 2004. The MHI deal is extremely exciting and opens a new chapter in the Owen Developments success story, confirming our status as one of Europe’s foremost turbocharger businesses,” said Lee Owen, the owner of the company.

In addition to that, Owen offers a range of customized Mitsubishi turbochargers, called “360”, that uses ball bearing updates and motorsport internal heatshields.

The UK-based company was established in 1980 and currently has a staff of fifteen. It develops applications for street-legal tuners, racing teams, rallycross teams and World Rally Championship teams. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries is the second turbocharger manufacturer that chooses Owen as its exclusive official distributor for the UK, following Garrett, that has chosen Owen as a sole distributor for its products in the European Union.
