It seems like the EV BMW is pushing is a big hit already, according to Automotive News. In a recent sit-down with BMW’s Sales Chief, Ian Robertson, they found out that there’s a six-month long waiting list for the new vehicle and that over 11,000 units have already been ordered.

This is big news for BMW as they invested over $2 billion in the research and development of the new i sub brand and hopes were pretty low, considering all the criticism the car received, especially from old fans of the brand.

Furthermore, this number doesn’t rely too heavily on US numbers, as the North American continent is responsible for only 1,200 units so far. Therefore, most of the orders come from Europe or Asia.

The Sales Chief also went on to point out that most sales went to customers migrating from other brands, making this an even bigger success for the Bavarian company. Unfortunately, the high demand is piling up and deliveries are delayed by up to 6 months right now, making this one of the most anticipated cars in the history of BMW.
