Barcelona-based Oto Cycles announces OtoK, one of their newest pedelecs, an electric bike with a massive retro look which will make even your grandfather's hear beat faster.
With almost all the design cues drawn from 50's, it's easy to see why the OtoK will turn lots and lots of heads. The really cool thing is that Oto Cycles has been extremely careful with the design of the bike, retaining the retro vibe while discretely integrating modern technology.
The forks are as retro as they get, with a nifty variation of the girder design, making everything look vintage and extremely intricate. The bike is made from aluminium and tips the scales at 23 kg (50.7 lbs). Customers can choose from a huge color list and can also decide upon the Brooks saddle, too.
A Sturmey Archer drum brake equips the front, while the rear brakes can be V- or horseshoe-type. OtoK comes with a 250W hub motor, fed by the 36V NCM Samsung battery packs installed in the fake fuel tank. The fuel cap looks simply smashing, though no gas will ever plow there.
Otok also brings a digital LCD cluster and all the wiring is waterproof. The bikes are also equipped with a Start and Go system which accelerates to 6 km/h (3.7 mph) without pedaling.
The bike is good for 25 km/h (15.5 mph) with a range of 40 to 60 km (25-37 miles) depending on the level of pedaling assistance. A 500W motor is also available optionally.
