Orlando Bloom Pushes the Pedal of His BMW M6 Gran Coupe a Bit Too Much

It’s supposed to be a rival to the Audi A7 and Mercedes-Benz CLS, but for us it’s simply a great four-door coupe that apparently everybody loves. And by everybody we mean famous actors as well. This time, it’s Orlando Bloom’s turn to outshine his fellows, because it seems the man just bought a new car. What’s the next natural step you take when you do that? Push the pedal, of course.
Looking at what the 38-year old actor has been working at, you’d expect Bloom to be a classic car driver of some sort. I mean, think of The Lord of the Rings trilogy, he was simply amazing playing Legolas, a true prince (who cares he’s ruling over the Elfs). Then, there’s the Pirates of the Caribbean film series or even Troy, Orlando Bloom simply doesn’t pass as a mean bad boy.

But here he is, trying to smile his way out of a speeding fine while taking his new toy for a spin. According to X17online, Miranda Kerr’s soon-to-be ex-husband was stopped as he headed down Pacific Coast Highway toward Los Angeles in Malibu. It appeared that Bloom was trying to do the celebrity smile trick to get away from a fine, but it didn’t quite work out and he left with a speeding ticket.

No problem here, apart from the “save the planet” hypocrisy level Bloom is now facing. Orlando was supposed to be one of the environmentalists in the showbizz. We'll remind you the actor has been part of Global Green, an environmental company, since the early 2000s. Yet here he is, driving a not-so-green speed-machine...

And it's not even stock. As standard, the M6 Gran Coupe comes with a 4.4-liter V8 tuned to make 560 HP and 680 Nm (501 lb-ft) of torque but judging by the bi-color wheels on this thing, the one he has is fitted with the Competition Package. That means it gets 15 extra horsies and an improved differential at the back along with a new suspension. Oh, and did we mention the $10,000 carbon ceramic brakes?
