Following the failure of the latest Ghostbusters movie a couple of years ago, it’s only natural for fans to be careful not to get over-excited about the upcoming installment. But so far all the ingredients feel right, and it's only as matter of the recipe being just as good.
The new Ghostbusters movie is set to launch in 2020, directed by Jason Reitman. Jason is the son of Ivan Reitman, the man who directed the first two original movies of the franchise.

Having a rather young cast behind it, including former Avenger Paul Rudd, the new movie is still a mystery, as not many details about it are known. What we do know is that the car used by the original supernatural-fighting crew, the Ecto-1, is making a comeback.

The car’s return was teased since the beginning of the year, when a short promo for the flick was shown. At that time, the back of the Ecto-1 under a tarp was visible, lost in a barn somewhere.

Earlier this week, Reitman published another image of the car on his Instagram account, showing one of the car’s wheels. The image is captioned “You guys ready to get rolling?,” probably a reference to the start of shooting.

The car that transported Dan Akyroyd, Bill Murray, and Ernie Hudson on the New York battlefield is a Miller-Meteor modified 1959 Cadillac.

Hollywood tried a female-led reboot of Ghostbusters in 2016, and it changed the car to a more modern 1980 Cadillac Fleetwood Station Wagon. Despite being rather appreciated by critics, both the movie and the car failed to impress audiences, earning a total of $229 million worldwide after investing $144 million.

The new movie is not meant to be another reboot, but as Sony, the studio behind the movie says, this is the “next chapter in the original story.” Ghostbusters 3, that is.
