It may be the 110th anniversary for H-D, but there's plenty of action from Indian, too, and the latest tip from Cyril Huze is an auction to be held by Gould Auctions on July 14th, with an original 1909 Indian engine and two original wrenches under the hammer.
The engine bears the stamped number 1080 and was manufactured back in 1909. Believe it or not, Gould Auctions says that this amazing single-cylinder engine is in great running condition, "decked out" and "ready to roll", and this means two things.

First of all it's obviously, yet another proof for how resilient and enduring are the old Indian engines. Even though this engine was engineered and manufactured by Oscar Hedstrom in the very dawn of the motorcycle industry, it looks like the time had little power over such technology.

On the other hand, an 1909 engine in running condition means a great opportunity for bike restoring workshops and enthusiasts for re-building a potential similar age machine. Two original Indian wrenches are also under the hammer on July 14th, in East Madison, Maine.
