VW Delivers First Oprah Winfrey 2012 Beetles

Even before a single customer had ever taken delivery of the 2012 Bug, TV show host Oprah Winfrey promised 275 people who were there at one of her shows last year that they would received the brand new Volkswagen Beetle. The charitable Oprah also pledged the money that these people would need and all the fees for registering the cars.
Now, according to The Car Connection, she’s beginning to make good on her promise as the first 25 deliveries are taking place at VW dealership in Orland Park, IL, and Volkswagen of America CEO Jonathan Browning is on hand to make sure everything goes according to plan. The remaining 250 winners will get their Bug in the next few weeks.

The 21st Century Beetle was officially revealed in April in Shanghai, New York and Berlin. Volkswagen hopes that the ‘less flower, more power’ attitude of the 2012 model will appeal to a larger audience.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
