It seems that the guys from Opel are currently working on an entry-level car that will stand below the Corsa and Adam models and might launch it sometime between 2015 and 2016.
The future car will be built on a global small car platform from GM and it will be a four door and four seats. Unfortunately we aren’t able to offer too much information about it as there isn’t that much available. The starting price is supposed to be less than EUR10,000 / USD13,770 but we don’t know the exact sticker.
It is believed that this particular vehicle from Opel might be developed in order to compensate for Chevrolet’s departure from Europe. We can’t help but be intrigued by this future Opel model and hope for the best.
Opel doesn't exactly have the best track record in recent years with its smaller cars, which have been somewhat uninspiring. The Corsa especially has lacked the edge needed to compete in one of the most important segments in Europe. 2015 late 2015 to early 2016 arrival date for this car suggests we're dealing with a replacement for the Chevy Spark city car. But only time will tell if they're going to make an affordable Dacia Sandero rival or a regular A-segment car like the Hyundai i10.
