The brand new 2013 Buick Encore compact crossover has been revealed at the Detroit Motor Show, but already it has a twin brother, or two twin brothers if you count the Vauxhall version as different. Yes, the European and UK market Mokka crossover has been fully shown and will be sold under the Opel and Vauxhall brands belonging to GM.
The crossover will officially debut at the Geneva Motor Show this March and tackles a whole new market segment. At 4.28 meters in length, is smaller than both the BMW X1 and the new Audi Q3.

European customers will be offered a choice of either front- or all-wheel drive and 6-speed or automatic transmissions. The engine options available right now comprise of two petrol units and one diesel. There’s a 115 hp 1.6-liter naturally aspirated unit or a more powerful 140 hp Turbo version, though we expect the diesel 1.7 CDTI with 130 hp will be the prefered option, since it has 50% more torque than the other two.

The Mokka will be provided with Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Traction Control (TC), Hill Start Assist (HAS) and Hill Descent Control (HDC) as standard as well as with Bi-Xenon headlights that include the High Beam Assist system, a new generation front camera system and a number of functions such as Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Forward Collision Alert (FCA) and second generation Traffic Sign Recognition.

The Opel Mokka will be available at dealerships by the end of 2012.
