Opel Presents 2010 Corsa ecoFLEX

It’s astonishing how things in the auto industry get greener by the second. We live in an era where everyone wants to save fuel, save the planet, keep things as neat and clean as possible.

In the new world order, Opel presents it’s new Opel Corsa ecoFLEX, a car that has more respect for the environment. The car is powered by 1.3 liter CDTI diesel engine using a variable geometry turbo. The power has gone up 28 percent compared to the previous Corsa ecoFLEX generation.

The fuel consumption and CO2 emissions are 10% lower, so things are looking pretty good. Corsa ecoFLEX develops 190 Nm of torque available between 1,750 and 3,250 rpm and only needs 3.7 l/100 km. The three door version releases 98 g/km CO2, while the five door version emits 99 g/km CO2.

In order to obtain these figures, a longer transmission gear ratio was selected for the five-speed unit. The new 95 hp engine has a top speed of 177 km/h and needs 12.3 seconds to reach 100 km/h from a standstill. This ‘’wide ratio, eco-friendly ‘’ gear set work together to lower CO2 values below 100g.

The exterior suffered some modifications: aerodynamics has been improved by lowering the car by 20 mm and optimizing the air flows via the air intakes. Wheels are fitted with newly designed, more efficient wheel caps. The Corsa ecoFLEX is equipped with special, 175/70 tires that are roll-resistance-optimized and fitted to lighter, flow formed , 14” steel wheels – 15” wheels are optional.

If you’re into all the hippie green environment stuff, Corsa ecoFLEX might be one of the cheapest alternatives out there.
