Deliveries of the Opel Mokka haven’t even begun, having been scheduled for this fall, but the car is already a huge success for Opel/Vauxhall. Already, the automaker has received orders for 25,000 units of the small SUV, with demand being very strong in German, the UK, Italy and Russia.
Order books were opened in July, offering customers the choice of either front- or all-wheel drive and different diesel and petrol engines with outputs up to 140 hp. The petrol range includes a 1.6-liter petrol producing 115 hp, a turbocharged 1.4-liter that delivers 140 hp, and there’s a single diesel as well, a 1.7 CDTi with 130 hp. All the units use a standard Start-Stop system.

“Now that we have the Mokka, a new chapter in our product offensive has begun. Our successful order intake shows that the Mokka is spot on. Its technologies, dynamic and bold design appeals to the taste of our customers”, says Opel Vice President, Sales, Marketing and Aftersales, Alfred E. Rieck.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
