Police cars have always been an object of fascination, as these vehicles have a special aura of authority and power. As the automotive world evolves, the law enforcers receive more capable vehicles that represent enhanced tools for fighting crime. Of course, the feelings developed for police vehicles depends on which side of the law you find yourself.

However, criminals also respect these motorized enforcers, even though they don’t like to show it. The authorities are well aware of their vehicles’ status and this is why they use any possible occasion to promote the changes their vehicle pool goes through.

Usually, police forces like to advertise the flagship cars in their fleets. You know, badass rides that are usually used to break the law, which have been converted, crossing the border and fighting bad guys. We are talking about cars like the Lamborghini Gallardo - this example comes from Italy.

However, the police doesn’t only use hyperpowered monsters. The guys in uniforms actually ride in normal vehicles and today we are here to offer you such an example. The German Polizei from the State of Hesse has recently renewed its vehicle fleet and the first move was to offer this information to the public, so that everybody knows that the officers are ready for any road situation.

The weapon of choice for the German police is the Opel Insignia Sports Tourer. The authorities have ordered 800 units of the vehicle, with the first 100 vehicles hitting the streets by the end of the year.
