Opel Corsa 1.3 CDTI ecoFLEX is Presented at Bologna Motor Show

Opel's trendy compact received a makeover for the 2011 model year and, apart from the fresh new exterior, it also got a new powerplant. The new Corsa joins the new Opel design family with a facelift and new color palette to augment its likability.

The new Corsa ecoFLEX 1.3 CDTI develops 95 horsepower and is the most fuel efficient engine that Opel put in its compact hatchback. Opel claims that the 3 door version has a consumption of 3.5 liters per 100 km (67.3 mpg) and has made great advancements in cutting CO2 emissions, reducing tailpipe discharges to a mere 94 g/km.

City mileage is improved thanks to the newly introduced Start/Stop technology that's now offered as standard on most of Opel's 2011 models. The company promises that by the end of next year the fuel-saving technology will be a standard feature for its entire lineup. This is especially useful when driving in the city or other adjacent areas with heavy traffic.

The Corsa comes with redesigned front fascia that gives the vehicle a sportier, more expressive look. The interior is redecorated with modern color schemes and ornaments, adding to the youthful styling that the new Corsa aims at.

Opel continues to offer the Corsa with the special Color Line series that comes with a black painted roof and shiny black 17 inch wheels, vividly exterior colors and heaps of new gadgetry that provide added value. Moreover, Opel has introduced a new "Linea" package, created especially for the younger consumers looking to customize their vehicles. It adds two massive stripes across the length of the body, complete with matching side mirrors and 17-inch alloys.

The Corsa has been increasingly popular within European markets such as Italy, the UK, Spain and Germany and, as a result, Opel is now delivering the hatchback with the Color Line trim all over Europe, including Italy.
